Arkiv Digital AD AB digitizes material from public archives and makes it available to its customers. This policy describes how we collect and use your personal information when you use our website or any of our services.

How we use your information

When you sign up for an account at we collect information so that you will be able to sign in to our services. Certain information, such as search history and bookmarks, is stored when you do searches within ArkivDigital's archives.The information is retained as long you have an account with us and you can close your account at any time. We may also come to send important information to the email address that you used to signed up. These processing activities are part of the service that you pay for and are necessary in order for us to perform our obligations toward you.

When you create an account at you will also receive a newsletter from us. We hope that you will find it useful but you can unsubscribe at any time. The legal basis for this activity is legitimate interest.

When you perform a purchase at we collect information in order to receive your payment and to deliver the items to you. This information is included in our bookkeeping and is stored for seven years in accordance with the Swedish Bookkeeping Act.

When you contact our customer support we store your correspondence until your issue has been resolved. This is part of our obligation toward you. Thereafter we may come to store the correspondence for another 90 days in order to improve our services. The legal basis for doing so is legitimate interest.

When you use or any of our services we will collect information about your usage using so called "cookies". The information is necessary in order to ensure the proper function of and the services. We use processors in order to deliver our services. Your information is stored and processed primarily in the EU and in certain cases in the USA. The information that you share with us will only be used to provide our services to you and will not be sold or shared with any third party for any other purpose.

About our archives

Arkiv Digital has a license that allows us to collect and publish historical records. For the most part these records contain information about people who are no longer alive, but there is also certain information about people who live today. We aim for ArkivDigital to provide information that is relevant to our users, while at the same time not exposing any information that might be regarded as sensitive by those who are included in our records. If you find any information that you think is sensitive, regarding yourself or any other person, then we encourage you to contact our customer support.

Accessing and correcting information

You have the right to request a copy of all the information that we store about you. To do so please contact our customer support.

We want to be sure that the information that we have about you is correct. Please contact our customer support if you believe that some piece of information that we have about you is incorrect.

Objecting to processing

You have the right to object to our collection and processing of your personal information if you think that it is wrong or unfair. To do so please contact our customer support. If you are not happy with the way in which we handle your objection then you are entitled to make a complaint with a supervisory authority such as the Sweden's Datainspektionen.

Changes to this policy

We review this policy regularly and make updates as necessary. We will inform you via email if substantial changes are made. The most recent change was made on March 11 2019.
